My Story
When I was a child, I used to go shopping with my mom. One of our favorite places to shop was River Oaks Mall, located in Calumet City, Illinois—a vibrant, premier mall. It had a lot of stores to choose from: Marshall Field’s, Carson Pirie Scott, just to name a few. We would spend hours going from one store to the next, looking for the best fashion pieces. One of our favorite fashion pieces was jeans that sat at or above the waist. The jeans were roomy through the hip and strongly tapered at the ankle. I loved browsing the jeans.
I enjoyed choosing outfits and trying them on in fitting room. I try on several pairs of jeans-one of my favorites and look in the mirror in amazement. I also enjoyed putting together different fashion pieces together see how it would look. For example, a pair of dark denim, a cream color top, and a red jacket.
After we were done shopping, we leave the mall with our hands full of shopping bags. Over the years of shopping with my mom hold a special place in my heart. It is a time in my life that I will treasure forever.
